Extended School Program
The Fountain Valley School District's Expanded School Program (ESP) offers quality before- and after-school care in a safe and supportive environment. ESP is designed to extend student learning beyond the classroom by offering structured homework assistance, engaging enrichment opportunities, and recreational activities that promote social, emotional, and academic growth. Our dedicated staff foster a positive atmosphere where students can build confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills, while giving families peace of mind that their children are cared for in a nurturing and well-supervised setting. We are open Monday-Friday before school at 7AM and after school until 6PM.

Registration Fee $60 per child is due upon enrollment and yearly on registration day.

5 Days $220 3, 4, 5 & 6 $430
*Before school care is only available for those who are enrolled in ESP after school, with limited space available*
*6th graders are bused to the nearest ESP location, must be picked up there, and are only available to those who were enrolled for their entire 5th grade year.

Qualifications for the Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP):
Children who are enrolled in a Fountain Valley School District school who have been designated by the District to be a) ELL, English Language Learners; b) Homeless or foster youth or c) qualified for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program will receive a grant to cover the cost of ESP. To apply through the FVSD Free & Reduced Lunch Program: a) visit the FVSD Food Services Website for an online application, or b) complete a paper application (available online or from the school offices). https://www.fvsd.us/apps/pages/LunchApp
The 2026/2027 school year Free & Reduced Programs application opens August 1, 2026
A copy of the application approval letter will need to be sent to the Child Care Office PRIOR to the child starting ESP. ELOP Grants must be renewed every school year.
